USABILITY TESTING OF GAVI'S WEBSITE
An agile approach and clear definition of the project's scope enabled a quick and efficient identification of GAVI's existing UX problems and a list of possible solutions. The problems were then prioritised together with GAVI in several workshops.
When the international organisation ‘GAVI – the Vaccine Alliance’ wanted to review the usability of their website, gavi.org, they enlisted the help of one of our experts in the field, Jenny. GAVI’s digital team had specific goals: to quickly identify both short-term and long-term measures to improve the user experience on their website.
With a background as a product owner for a variety of global and international websites, Jenny was the perfect candidate for the task. She began the project with a ‘discovery workshop‘. This workshop was designed to dive deep into GAVI’s current web structure, while offering insights into the organisation’s overall priorities and vision for the website. Following the workshop, Jenny conducted a range of other research: usability testing to understand users’ interactions with the site, service safaris to identify bottlenecks in the user journey, and a thorough keyword analysis to understand how the site’s content matched users’ search intentions.
All this research came together in just five working days, which was an impressive feat in itself. The results of Jenny’s work were presented through an agile approach. Instead of giving GAVI a comprehensive report that could be overwhelming, the scope of the project was clearly defined. Jenny and Strong Contents were able to quickly identify existing UX issues and categorise them based on their impact on the user experience. But the process didn’t stop there. To ensure the recommendations were in line with GAVI’s goals, several workshops were held to discuss and prioritise the issues. This collaborative approach ensured not only that the solutions were feasible, but also that they were in line with the organisation’s overall vision.

To quickly and effectively conduct a content and UX audit of gavi.org, identify and prioritise UX issues, and provide a concrete list of simple and more complex fixes for an improved user experience.
Diving deep into gavi.org’s digital landscape, our first step was to really understand how their content and user experience (UX) interacted. A detailed content audit revealed not only the quality and relevance of the content, but also how it was structured and presented to visitors. At the same time, we conducted a comprehensive UX audit to identify any barriers or interruptions in the user journey. This dual approach allowed us to create a holistic view of the site’s strengths and weaknesses. Following our thorough review, we were able to quickly rank and prioritise the UX issues identified, ranging from simple fixes to more complex solutions. With this insight in hand, we delivered a concrete and actionable list to GAVI, which included recommendations that, when implemented, could provide a significantly improved user experience.
We identified a total of 40 usability issues on the website, 25 of which were quick fixes specifically requested by GAVI.
The results of our work were presented through an agile approach. Instead of giving GAVI a comprehensive report that could be overwhelming, the scope of the project was clearly defined. Jenny and her team were able to quickly identify existing UX issues and categorise them based on their impact on the user experience.
